Four Dead Queens by Astrid Scholte

Quadara is divided into four sections, each ruled by a queen. The queens work together for the greater good of the land, although each are particularly focussed on their own section. Until they start being killed. Meanwhile, Keralie who lives in one of the poorest sections and lives as a thief, trusting very few people. One thing leads to another and Keralie finds herself in the middle of it all.

I love me a fantasy YA book, and while there are themes here that are common to many YA books, I thought this was great. I want more, however at this stage, the book is not part of a series. Looks like Astrid Scholte has another book coming out soon, so that’s one to keep an eye out for.
