Growing Up Muslim in Australia edited by Amra Pajalic and Demet Divaroren

Modern day Australia (and the wider world) has so many negative views put around about Muslims, and I feel as though surely everyone knows that much of it is rubbish. Yet it keeps coming, and I don’t want to repeat it here, because it’s toxic and gross. One thing which is very clear from reading this book is that there is no one Muslim experience, which given that we are all individuals, probably shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone. There are funny stories, there is some sadness, there is pride and there is a lot of love.
